Mary Langcake The Inaugural Medical Parents of Australia & New Zealand Conference 2016: Leading a Double Life

Mary Langcake

Dr Mary Langcake is a distinguished trauma surgeon. It was only later in life, when her son was 3 years old, that she went into medicine. She has been the Director of Trauma at Sydney's St George Hospital & has been deployed to Afghanistan with the RAAF - interestingly, drawing parallels with the teamwork in a public hospital with that on the battlefield. Her advice for Drs looking at career options: "Don't think you can't stop the rollercoaster and get off"
